Speedo produce a fantastic range of swimwear and swimming accesories including swimsuits, swimming goggles, kickboards, swimming fins and pullbouys plus much more.
Founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The SPEEDO company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills.
This acceptance of swimwear and the introduction of the ‘Racerback’ costume meant it was time for a new company name. A staff competition was held and won by a Captain Parsonson who coined the slogan ‘Speed on in your Speedos’. The SPEEDO name was born in 1928.
Today the company is headquartered in Nottingham, England, and is owned by the London based Pentland Group. The company is the world’s largest selling swimwear brand and manufactures products for both recreational and competitive swimming. Its trademark is a red boomerang-shaped logo.

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone knew of swimwear which offered tummy support. I have had 2 very big babies and my tummy is not what it used to be. I’d love to be able to wear something other than shorts and a t-shirt to go swimming this summer.
TIA
Nat
Hi Nat
This is a question that we get asked quite a lot. So we have put together a few points to keep in mind when buying your swimwear.
Avoid purchasing any swimwear with horizontal stripes that will make the tummy area look even larger. Look for vertical lines that give the appearance of a slimmer waistline.
Avoid buying a tankini. Many women believe because tankinis are longer than a regular bikini top it will cover the stomach; oh contraire. You will find that these tops began to rise exposing a hanging tummy.
So what should you be looking for I hear you ask?
To hide the belly bulge consider buying swimwear in dark colors or with a print to camouflage the tummy. There are also many swimsuits now that have tummy control, look for these and make sure they contain spandex or lycra.
As for brands to look out for we would advise everyone to take a look at the Magicsuit Studs halter mio

To know if you are a classic pear shape then your hips will be wider than your shoulders, or you carry more of your weight around your hips, bum and thighs. In order to avoid swimwear faux pas then you need pick swimwear that flatters your figure and slim the bottom half while adding some volume to the top. This is easy to do with our tricks!
Avoid boy short bikini bottoms, as more fabric just highlights that there is more to cover; instead go for a high cut leg as this will make you leg look longer and leaner, and go for a regular cut across the bottom as this will be most flattering for a pear shape. Pairing a patterned or bright bikini top, with a darker or plain swimwear bottom is the best way to balance your proportions, as it boosts your bust and slims your thighs and bum beautifully. Wearing horizontal stripes on your top half is also a great way to look gorgeous in your swimwear.

We Say
The Performance Hydrasuit from Speedo is an original back zipping costume providing support and security. The design features a highcut neck and uses a durable, stretch material for modesty and comfort.
You Say:
I like the plain high neck with zip back. It is very flattering and practical for swimming. I am only 5′4″ but found it a little short in the body. The newer scientifically developed materials are thinner and comfortable but do show the shape of the bust a bit too much for public viewing! This is great for enforced school swimming as it is flattering, easy to get on and fuss-free. It could be improved with a bra-shelf for support and nipple coverage but then I am a 32 E and not everyone needs this. I suggest trying a couple of sizes as they are not particularly generous particularly in the length.
