Speedo Brand Spotlight

Speedo produce a fantastic range of swimwear and swimming accesories including swimsuits, swimming goggles, kickboards, swimming fins and pullbouys plus much more.

Founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The SPEEDO company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills.

This acceptance of swimwear and the introduction of the ‘Racerback’ costume meant it was time for a new company name. A staff competition was held and won by a Captain Parsonson who coined the slogan ‘Speed on in your Speedos’. The SPEEDO name was born in 1928.

Today the company is headquartered in Nottingham, England, and is owned by the London based Pentland Group. The company is the world’s largest selling swimwear brand and manufactures products for both recreational and competitive swimming. Its trademark is a red boomerang-shaped logo.

Moontide Swimwear

Moontide was established in 1980 and this year celebrates its 20th anniversary of selling in the UK. Moontide were one of the first Australian/ New Zealand brands to make a name for itself in Europe and the UK and since 1988 have enjoyed selling bikinis and swimwear to us Brits.

The Moontide brands has grown in popularity due to their stylish and feminine swimwear that is not only beautifully designed but supportive and made from quality material.

Moontide Swimwear not only looks good and feels amazing but they also have a long successful history in swimwear.
